Thompson Art Advisory is a New York based art advisory and valuation consulting firm which prioritizes client confidentiality, ethics, and due diligence in all areas of service. The firm was founded by Emily Thompson who has over two decades of experience in art market research and valuation.
With a specialization in post-war, contemporary and emerging art, Ms. Thompson has worked as a fine art advisor in the private banking sector and has worked as a senior appraiser at international appraisal firms and as a valuation expert for the United States Treasury.
Ms. Thompson is a certified member of the Appraiser's Association of America (AAA), a member of PAIAM (Professional Advisors to the International Art Market) and maintains board member positions with the Estate Planning Council of New York (EPCNYC) and the Phi Beta Kappa Society of New York (PBKNYC).

Ms. Thompson earned dual undergraduate degrees in Art History and English from Hobart and William Smith Colleges and a graduate degree in Visual Arts Administration from New York University. She maintains faculty positions at the Sotheby’s Institute of Art (SIA) Art Business program and at NYU's Steinhardt School of Education leading graduate level courses exploring art appraisal, methodology and art market research.
Ms. Thompson has lectured for various industry companies and organizations including Chubb Insurance and the Harvard Club of New York City on topics including the art market and best practices in collecting and art portfolio management.
